Youtube Rendering Settings….GAH
I have had such a hard time with render settings, so I can upload HD videos to youtube, and yesterday was the worst.
So, I just got done uploading a Warhammer Online video to youtube with my previous really good settings; BUT the last two videos I uploaded had the quality of like the old “HQ” 2007 youtube videos.
I immediately searched youtube for some new settings and decided to give the whole 1080p HD thing a try, one problem. Now, theses settings cut the bottom of my video clip and a 5min clip takes close to 3 HOURS to render. Add to that; that it takes another 30-40mins to put on youtube. I don’t think that is a compromise I’m willing to take for some 1080p footage, I will look elsewhere!
Morale of the story….be careful with rendering videos for youtube as it can lead to MANY headaches.
Aika Online – Closed Beta Impressions
Aika Online closed beta was released for it’s second go around today. I was lucky enough to get a key, and I am enjoying every minute of this game so far! The game was developed by Joymax and GPotato (gpotato is really having a good month – Allods Online and now Aika) and you can tell that they put a lot of time into this. The game is advertised as being a PvP-heavy game, but I am 10 levels into it so far and I have not encountered any PvP.
Here are my opening thoughts so far about Aika Online. One, the game feels like the devs put a lot of time into it and its paying off. Two, grind is almost non-existent so far and the leveling rate is a lot more reasonable then games like Allods Online. Another HUGE plus about this game is the NPC interaction, this feels like the interaction of a console game and it’s just so unique that; no other MMORPG has ever done anything like this. Instead of a window popping up when you click on an NPC, you actually go into this cinematic-like mode and get choices to what you want to ask that certain NPC. It’s a breath of fresh air, it really is innovative.
As far as some negative impressions, their aren’t too many so far. But on issue that I have so far is that the movement feels a little clunky. This is something that I think the can fix and something I think they need to fix, because it can get annoying at times. One very minor issue is kind of a lack of skills so far at level 10, I don’t want to jump the gun becasue I am only level 10, but I would have liked to have a little bit more skill options (I think I only have about 5, but that’s not counting the fact that you build on the skills you already have).
Overall, I am loving this game so far, I don’t want to hype it up too much, but if it continues to go in this direction, it will be a GREAT game.
